Philosphy/Mission Statement

The Academy for Character Education Charter School opened its doors to students in September 2007. ACE is a hybrid charter school, combining traditional classroom instruction with in-home tutoring by Highly Qualified teachers, community mentor-taught electives, and a home education model.

At the close of the 2011-2012 school year, enrollment was at 70 full-time students and 48 part-time students. Out-of-District students enrolled from the Camas Valley, Creswell, Douglas, Eugene, Fern Ridge, Junction City, Lowell, McKenzie, Oakland, Oakridge, Pleasant Hill, Riddle, Springfield, Sutherlin, and Winston-Dillard School Districts.

The mission of ACE is to increase student learning and achievement through prioritizing the development of good character. The Academy, in support of families, provides instruction and resources for families to strengthen the balanced growth of the children in their household.

ACE believes students are best prepared as moral, productive, contributing members of our world when trained seamlessly by family and school in an atmosphere expectant of constant ethical behavior and scholarly efforts. Read about our 4 pillars of learning »

Program Goals:
Graduating young men and women with strong moral character, minds expanded through extensive reading from historically and culturally rich literature, possessing solid skills in writing, speaking, and mathematics, with knowledge of the various scientific disciplines, and having developed personal interests is the school’s objective.
